THANK YOU, to all who participated and donated to our Annual Toys for Tots Event last month, December 9th 2011!  It was truly a fantastic outpouring of the Christmas spirit!  Thanks to Chaplain Davis for his Christmas message!  Check out the NEWS page for more details and a picture of the toys! Please mark your calendars for our next Monthly Meeting next Wednesday on January 18th at the Hilton Atlanta Airport, 1031 Virginia Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30354. Our guest speaker(s) will be Grant Wainscott, Director and Kevin Gullette, Deputy Director, of the Clayton County Office of Economic Development.  There are a lot of exciting things happening in the Clayton County/Atlanta Airport area and Grant and Kevin will bring us up-to-date on events such as the plans for the opening of the new International Airport Terminal, Relocation of Porsche Headquarters, Road Realignment Project at Charles Grant Parkway and Conley Road/Old Dixie, plus other major developments planned for the Tradeport/Mountain View Area such as hotels, retail and attractions. Our Meeting Starts at 11:30 A.M. and Lunch Prices are as Follows: $15 for Military (Active, NGB, & Reserve), $17 for all other Meeting Attendees The next NDTA-ATL Board meeting will be January 11th!

• Welcome to the Atlanta Chapter of the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA).  The NDTA is an educational, non-profit, global organization providing a common forum to discuss and endorse programs that promote transportation preparedness for economic and security needs.  The organization serves as a link between government and industry to obtain the needed cooperation and support necessary for strong, efficient, and effective transportation systems supporting our military.  NDTA Chapters around the world are involved in Emergency Planning that assists local, state, and federal governments in planning transportation support for domestic emergencies.

• Chapters are also involved in Study Projects made up of teams of transport industry executives and government/military personnel that produce findings on major transport problems.  The NDTA sponsors an annual Transportation and Logistics Forum and Exposition held in different metropolitan areas of the United States.  These well attended meetings serve as a forum for discussing international transportation and logistics issues.  Nearly 100 major international and domestic corporations regularly exhibit at the annual forums.  The NDTA also has five national committees studying and reporting on Military Airlift, Military Sealift, Surface Transportation, Passenger Travel Services, and Business Practices.

• The Atlanta Chapter has over 250 members across the spectrum of transportation and logistics.  Chapter members are active, reserve, and retired military, civilian employees of the military services, and members of industry.  The Chapter is actively involved in monthly programs, special projects, and also sponsors a scholarship program that awards thousands of dollars annually.  Please visit our pages and links.
